Pete McCutcheon

Pete McCutcheon is a police officer with over 27years experience serving in both the Royal Ulster Constabulary-GC and the Police Service of Northern Ireland. He is currently serving as head of the Centre for Information on Firearms and Explosives (CiFEx) Research and Development Unit where he operates as an SME in firearms, ammunition, and explosives. He holds a certificate in Terrorism Studies from St Andrews University, and a BA Honours Degree in Public Policy and Management along with an Advanced Diploma in Policing Intelligence, both from the University of Ulster. He has also successfully completed an MSc Masters Degree in Forensic Ballistics from the Defence Academy UK, through Cranfield University, achieving the Cranfield Forensic Institute’s Distinction Prize, and is a Professional Member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. He is currently undertaking a PhD, part-time, at the Defence Academy in relation to ballistic performance against intermediate glass barriers.
